About Me

I am an astronomy Ph.D Candidate at The Ohio State University and a NSF Graduate Research Fellow. Currently, I am advised by three amazing scientist: Professor Ji Wang, Professor Wendy Panero, and Dr. Jessie Christiansen. I research a variety of topics related to planet formation and with planet interiors. Previously, I worked with Dr. Will Dawson on faint galaxy detection of highly sheared galaxies at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

Mini Bio

I grew up in a rural part of northwest Georgia. I'm sure most astronomers have a story about gazing at the night sky, but for me that wasn't the case. I always thought space was fascinating and that the night sky was beautiful, but I was really more into playing with dirt and problem solving. So it only seems fitting that I would become astronomer that studies exoplanets, encapusulating my true loves science and dirt.

For my first few years of college, I attended Georgia Highlands College where I received my Associates in Physics. During this time, I worked at various jobs, but my absolute favorite was working as a dance instructor at Baird Ballet. Later, I moved to Atlanta to attend Georgia Institute of Technology. While there, I became involved with their Army ROTC program where I earned an educational scholarship. Upon receiving my B.S. in Physics, I commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army reserves.

Currently, I am serving as the commander in a ground ambulance unit while working towards my PhD. I manage around ~100 Soldier ensuring that their training and well-being.
